Greetings, reader! I’m so glad you stopped by my little blog. Rental Revival is all about making your home feel more like you, one easy project at a time. All of my projects are rental friendly, budget friendly, and don’t require DIY expertise. I’m a fan of the little tweaks that make a house or apartment feel like a home, rather than the crazy renovations and makeovers that you see on other blogs. Not that I don’t love those. But I think renovating my house would fall under the “not rental friendly” category so I skip out on that sort of stuff.
I don’t know about you, but when I read blogs, I love finding out more about the face behind the text. So here I am with a few friendly fun facts about myself. [Fact #1: I love alliteration.] I hope letting you know a little more about me will help you enjoy my blog more, and maybe even have you coming back on a regular basis! Why? Because I want to be internet friends with you. So let’s get this started.
NAME: Megan Poletti. Is it weird I still feel iffy about posting my last name online? Whatever. There's no such thing as privacy anymore.
AGE: 27. You can read more about how that really freaked me out here.
LOCATION: Cleveland, Ohio -- and yes, I love it. This city is all about DIY. People are constantly opening up art galleries, live-in-work-in lofts, vintage and consignment stores, other types of little shops, restaurants, breweries... There are craft shows, flea markets, farmers markets, festivals. Not to mention the fantastic music scene. I have friends who own comic and gaming stores, record labels, galleries, photography studios, and vintage stores. I also have friends who illustrate for a living, make music, and create, create, create. There's nothing better than living in a reviving industrial city, in my opinion. Come visit some time.
OCCUPATION: Audio engineer/percussionist/teacher. I teach both recording arts and percussion lessons. I own a recording business. I also co-host a podcast called Nerd Novice [*cough* alliteration], where we talk about nerdy shows, movies, comics, and more. I am a classically trained percussionist who majored in music in college, where I studied everything from orchestral percussion to arts administration to music therapy to sacred West African and Afro-Cuban traditional drumming. You can read more about my musical career and how it is evolving here.
I started Rental Revival in March 2013 as a way to share my little creative projects online. I am always thrifting, finding inspiring vintage pieces, and trying new crafts at home. I just figured I should share these talents somehow. One of my favorite crafts is crochet, which I have shared a little bit about with my crochet coffee cozies, crochet pillowcase, and the beginnings of my latest granny square afghan.
I have so many plans for this website, and I plan on growing it into a bigger and better place for many years to come. Expect some awesome happenings around here. I can't wait to share more.
Stay in Touch!
I always wanted to have a FAQ section. I think I would feel like I really made it if enough people were asking me questions that I could make a whole page devoted to it. So you should probably get to talking! You can stay in touch with me by commenting on my posts (I LOVE THAT) and following me on any of those social media sites we all spend too much time on.
You can also take a look at some of my favorite books, movies, musicians, and products over at my Amazon store. Just so you know, it's part of an Affiliate program, so I will get a portion of the sales. Thanks for looking!
I'd love to get to know you! Please, leave a comment below, or say hello anywhere else you see me online!
