Here it is, the long-awaited kitchen reveal! I spent $100 (some of it reimbursed by landlord) to freshen up my yellow monochrome kitchen, and I think it turned out great, if I do say so myself. I haven't finished it all yet, but the eating area is totally completed so I couldn't wait to share it all with you!
First, check out my Spring House Tour 2013 post to check out how everything looked before the upgrades. Everything was yellow, yellow, yellow! Since this is a rental, I can't do much about the floor or the fridge, but I could do something about the paint. That was the first thing to go. I had to sand it all down first since it was a high-gloss color (eww), so that was a pain in the butt. I did a coat of white over everything first, then used up my leftover Valspar "Sprinkle" from my bedroom for the eating area.
I think the aqua is a nice pop of color, and not too overwhelming since it is just in half of the kitchen. When I started painting the white I found I did not like it as much as I thought I would, so using the leftover blue was a good compromise. If I were to redo the kitchen I would probably just do the blue everywhere. I am in love with this color.
I will be posting a budget breakdown and tutorial guides throughout the next week or so. For now, enjoy all of my "after" photos!
