Welcome to another installment of Thrift Score Thursdays, with your hosts The Gathered Home, Rental Revival, and Black and White Obsession! You can share your thrift store, Craigslist, garage sale, and dumpster finds by sharing photos on Instagram or Twitter with hashtag #thriftscorethursday. I have to say, we had some really unique submissions this week and it was quite difficult to choose my favorites. I have a serious case of thrift envy. Is that a thing? It is now. Let's get to the goods, shall we?
First up is Julia from Cuckoo 4 Design. Holy crap, Julia. Let's just postpone the mention that your blog is totally awesome and I love everything about it: These brass fighting roosters your husband thrifted are KILLER. I love the statement of power and I love that they are goldified. This was a great find. Thanks for sharing!
Be doubly sure that you check out Julia's blog, because seriously. You won't be sorry.
Next up is my friend Bailey. (Nope, we don't have rules that state we aren't allowed to choose our friends!) Bailey found this lovely head vase and is adding it to her growing collection. Her apartment is filled with retro and pinup beauties, so this lady fits right in. She has quite a few and they are all special in their own way. I love the idea of displaying these in a hutch or cubby shelving unit some day!
Last but not least, Stacey is at it again with a beautiful find. I have seen this couch before on her Instagram and have always just melted over it. The color, the material, and most importantly the way she styles it in her living room (love that gallery wall!) are all just gorgeous. Bonus points for it being a sleeper couch, and for costing only $125.
I hope I can find something that striking soon! I'm in the market for a new couch...
Interested in my #thriftscorethursday find? If you follow me on Instagram, you would've seen that I posted a few small finds this week, including a pretty pressed flower print and a cute mid-century dresser. But the find I want to share in particular is this ridiculously awesome United States Army 11th Infantry Regiment photo from 1952. (Which, coincidentally, you can see on the gallery wall in my first Thrift Score Thursday share!)
This framed and matted photo was found at a Chicago yard sale for $10. While I was visiting my friend in the city, we were passing by and happened to spot a yard sale. I ended up buying this because I just could not pass it up. I love old photos, especially military ones, and to me it was worth carrying it along on the 6-hour Megabus trip home to Cleveland.
This, people, is why we thrift! Do you have some awesome thrift scores that you want to share? Don't forget to hashtag your photos on Instagram and Twitter with #thriftscorethursday, any day of the week, so you can have a chance to be featured on our weekly series!
