Did you expect anything less for a Thursday morning? I didn't think so.
We're on WEEK 8 of #thriftscorethursday, you guys. That means we've been doing this for two months! Brynne, Trisha and I have been having a lot of fun and we still get a kick out of seeing your thrifty finds. Still not sure of the rules for our little game? First of all, where have you been?! Just kidding. I accept your tardiness. Just remember, to participate in #thriftscorethursday, you must:
1. Take a photo of something you see or purchased at a thrift store, consignment shop, garage sale, Craigslist, or anywhere else secondhand.
2. Post your photo on Instagram and/or Twitter, any day of the week!
3. On your photo post, include the hashtag #thriftscorethursday.
4. Each Thursday morning, your hosts The Gathered Home and Black and White Obsession and I will share our favorites of the week! This means you should be posting photos throughout the week, so we can gather up our favorites to share on Thursday.
Now that that's all cleared up, let's see what this week has in store for us.
Best part about that thrift score is that is was a curb find! Ain't nothin' better than a freebie retro discovery, am I right? Oh, I'm right. Thanks for sharing your find, Diana!
My second favorite find this week has totally inspired me to redo the ugly desk in my life, because ohmygoodness, this mid-century refab is just gorgeous. Sabrina from Retro Future Furniture is at it again with this beautiful desk and folding chair. She thrifted the folding chair later and I think it goes together perfectly!
That brass hardware is just freaking amazing.
Speaking of brass... Want to see my chosen thrift score next? Sure you do. I have been ridiculously in love with goldifying everything, as you probably remember from my many gold-related projects, so when I found this gold headboard at the thrift store I was in love.
I've never really had a headboard or bed frame other than the metal ones that come with your box springs. This was my attempt at starting to put together a nice bed. (I made that pillowcase!) The price was right and the effect (it being gold and all) was on point.
Now that I am moving (post on that tomorrow!), I will be getting rid of this headboard because I am also going to be getting a new bed. So, just like my retro mod canisters from last week--which yes, have sold--this week I am throwing a little "my stuff is for sale" plug in for good measure. If you like the headboard and live around Cleveland, hit me up!
Do you have any neat thrift scores that you're dying to share? Make sure you hashtag them on Instagram or Twitter with #thriftscorethursday so we can see! This has been a great chance to meet new blogging friends and engage in talks about our shared love of thrifting, so I highly recommend joining the club and playing along!
